Quick Look: Content Metadata Requirements for New Content Partners

Attached below please find our Recommended Video Specs, as well as the best practices for bulk uploading metadata via CSV and and a sample CSV file for your convenience. 


When uploading Here are the metadata fields we must have:

  1. Display Name: title as it will appear to end users.
  2. Short Description: max 110 characters, needs to differentiate per episode if content is episodic.
  3. Long description: no max character count, needs to differentiate per episode if content is episodic.
  4. Content Ratings: need to be in the format of the country where the content is available (eg: MPAA)
  5. Genre: category
  6. Audio Language: example ES or EN; should allow for multiple languages if necessary 
  7. Video Type: feature, episode, short, etc. Let us know if you have a very specific video type not listed here.
  8. Origin Country: example GB, ES, etc
  9. Geo-blocking: AVOD availability—where can it be displayed.
  10. Season and Episode number (in case of shows)
  11. Actors, Directors, Producers, Writers (if available) 
  12. Image Widescreen: 16:9
  13. Image Poster: 7:10
  14. Image Widescreen Alternative (like a screenshot of the video): 16:9
  15. Caption files and language (if available): Please let us know if you will need this.
  16. Mid-Roll time codes: to add advertising cues, formatted as such: HH:MM:SS.ss
  17. Availability window: from YYYY-MM-DD to YYYY-MM-DD (for VOD and FAST as applicable)
  18. Release date: YYYY-MM-DD
